IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

One June 7, 2013, I tentatively hit the send button on my very first newsletter--what is now called the 'Platinum Newsletter.'

Since that day, I've written hundreds of articles (maybe even thousands) with most of my good content taking more than 2-3 hours to write, edit, and record before uploading them to you.

My wife complains about how long it takes me to write to you. She might be a little jealous about me spending all that time writing to you instead of talking to her. I don't blame her. I'm fascinating. ;-)

Hey! I'm a guy. That's my defense.

As you know, guys only have so many words a day before they die of communication exhaustion. After we reach our daily word limit, we only talk in grunts and strained facial expressions.

So, I take my time writing because I want to make sure the things I say to you are valuable. The secret to being heard is to only say things worth listening to.

A VALUABLE SUCCESS EXERCISE

I came to an important realization while working through a valuable success exercise with my Mastermind group over the weekend...

Namely, I'm investing a lot more time in the Platinum Newsletter than what my average hourly pay is from doing all the other money-making things I do for a living (i.e. Online Consulting, Private Training Events, Public Speaking, etc.)

More specifically, the 'Platinum Newsletter' only pays roughly 1% of my income, but takes up to 15%-20% of my time each week.

That's not very smart, is it?

I get paid a lot of money to give good advice to successful people all over the country and there isn't one of them I wouldn't immediately advise to quit giving 20% of their time to anything only paying 1% of their total income.

THE HARD CASH FACTS

The thing is, although I want the Platinum Newsletter to be extremely valuable, and do everything in my power to make it so, the hard cash facts, the ultimate reality is, the Platinum Newsletter is not valuable enough to enough of you, my readers, to justify my time invested.

I want it to be. Honestly, I do.

Man, oh man, I wish it were more valuable to you, but it's clearly not.

There's a way we wish things worked in this world, and then there's the way things actually work.

One of the underlying tenants of Napoleon Hill's rules to 'Think & Grow Rich' is to deal with reality as things are, not as we wish things would be.

I'm great at seeing reality clearly for my clients, but have struggled to take my own medicine.

Perhaps it's because I have built such strong relationships with so many of you over the years. I know how you started, the struggles you've had to overcome, and I know the kind of success you're having now.

We've been through a lot together over the years.

This is a bitter pill to swallow, no doubt.

THIS IS GOODBYE

I have to say 'Goodbye.'

Your paid 'Platinum Newsletter' subscription will be cancelled effective July 3, 2017. You should not get another charge for the 'Platinum Newsletter' again after this date.

I'm sure you'll eventually hear from me again by email, but I won't be sending out regular 'Tuesday Training,' 'Weekend Warriors,' or 'Top Roofing News' newsletters any longer. [Many of these are now archived and available for members in the Roofing Salesman University training portal]

Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for subscribing to my paid newsletter.

Peace,
Mike

P.S. This is a good exercise for a company owner to do in their own business. Make a list of all the things you do regularly in a week and then determine whether or not they make more, or less, than your average hourly pay.

You can figure your average hourly pay by taking your annual income, dividing your annual income by the number of weeks you work in a year, and then dividing that number by the average number of hours you work in a week.

Anything you do in a week that pays less than your average hourly pay are the things you should stop doing, or outsource, and things that pay more should be doubled-down on as soon as possible.
